Paul Notes for Nancy Anna Elizabeth McGowen:
She was born in Ohio on November 18, 1857. She is the twin daughter of John McGowen and Susan Coughlin. She moved with her parents to Bloomington, Illinois and in 1875 she moved with her parents to Seward, Seward, Nebraska, USA.
Married to John G. O'Dea & moved to Wahoo in Saunders Co., lived 4 years in Clearwater then moved to Crete, living there until 1908 where she came to Red Willow county, living west of Indianola until three years ago when the family moved to Indianola.  Mrs. John G. O'Dea died on March 1st 1920, at Indianola, Nebraska.

Mrs. John G. O'Dea
Mrs. John G. O'Dea died on March 1, 1920, at Indianola, Nebraska.
Anna McGowen was born in Ohio in 1855, moved from Bloomington, Illinois, to Howard County, Nebraska, in 1876. Was married to John G. O'Dea in 1877, at Wahoo, Saunders County, Nebraska. Lived for a while at Glenwood, Iowa, then moved to Crete, Nebraska, living in that vicinity until 1908, when she came to Red Willow county, living west of Indianola until three years ago, when the family moved to Indianola, where she died.
Although in poor health for many years, her death was a shock to her family and friends.
She leaves a husband and eight children: George of Exeter; Charles, James and Harold of Indianola; Mrs. John Turner, of Friend; Mrs. Louis B. Colling, of Indianola; Ellen and Irene, of Indianola. Two children; a boy and a girl, preceded her.
She was in truth a Christian mother, who, on reaching eternity, will be greeted; "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of the Lord." (Matthew 25-23)
The funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church at 10am, by Father Stricker. Interment at Catholic Cemetery in Indianola.
Many of her friends were unable to be present on account of the severe storm.
She will be missed and remembered by all.

For her life's race has been well run:
A lasting happiness she has had.
Why should you mourn for her and weep?
She's resting in eternal sleep,
Until the mighty trumpets sound,
To call her from this earthly mound.
