My name is .....George Colling.....; my age is 32 years; my post office address is .Hastings, Nebraska... ; I was well and personally acquainted with William Colling and Magdalene Becker from the time and before they were married, October, 1866 to the date of the death of the said William Colling and I personally know that the said William Colling and Magdalena Colling lived together as husband and wife, except the last few years of the life of the said William Colling, during which time he was confined in the hospital for the insane at Hastings Nebraska; but that during all of the time he was so confined she was his lawful wife, and remained his lawful wife from the date of their marriage until the date of his death, and were not at any time divorced or otherwise separated.

OBITUARY
of Mrs. Magdelena Colling

.....Magdelena Becker was born January 7th 1849, in Heidelberg Germany and departed this life April 3rd at Indianola, Nebraska.
.....She was left an orphan when five years of age and emigrated to America in 1865. Her first home in America was at Elburn, Illinois where she was married to William Colling in 1866.
.....The family moved to Red Willow County, Nebraska, in 1880, where Mrs. Colling resided until her death.
.....Eight of Mrs. Collings twelve children and her husband preceded her in death.
.....She leaves to mourn her departure three daughters and one son. Mrs. Lizie Gierns of Rawlins, Wyoming, Mrs. Maggie Fossen of Indianola, Nebraska, Mrs. Ella Cless of Nevada, Missouri, Charles Colling of Inkom, Idaho. She leaves twenty two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
.....Mrs. Colling settled in this county in the early day and experienced all the hardships of pioneer life.
.....She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving mother and a conscientious Christian woman. Her deed of kindness and helping hand will be remembered as the years pass on.
