Dec 1991 Obituary -- James J. Malleck
INDIANOLA -- James J. Malleck was born April 11, 1916, at Indianola to John and Agnes F. (Colling) Malleck. He died Friday (Dec. 27, 1991) at Community Hospital of McCook at the age of 75.
He lived his entire life in the Indianola area, attending rural school south of Indianola.
On March 19, 1937, he married Genevieve E. Withheld.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, James Marvin; and one grandson, Austin Bahl.
Survivors include his wife of Indianola; four sons, Tom of Evanston, Wyo., Dennis and his wife Marilyn of Ness City, Kansas, Lonnie and his wife Loura Jo of Syracuse, Kansas, and Philip and Diane of Spokane, Wash.; four daughters, Judy and Husband Randy Keith of Indianola, and Jane and husband Daniel Bahl, Vonda Parrott and Jeannine Malleck, all of Lincoln; 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be today at 7:30 p.m. at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with the Rev. Daniel Pohl officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Indianola.
Carpenter Breland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 4

INDIANOLA -- James Marvin Malleck died Wednesday (Feb 17, 1991) at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha at the age of 54. He was born Dec. 22, 1936, at Indianola to James J. and Withheld Malleck.
He graduated from the Indianola schools.
He married Judy K. Withheld Oct. 17, 1964, at Oberlin.
Prior to moving to Central City, 13 years ago, they lived in Waterloo, Iowa.
He was a member of the Central City Eagles and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Judy of Central City; one son Withheld of Central City and two daughters, Withheld of Denver and Withheld of Encinita, Calif.; his parents, James and Genevieve Malleck of Indianola; four brothers, Thomas of Indianola, Dennis of Hays, Kansas., Lonnie of Syracuse, Kansas., and Philip of Spokane, Wash.; four sisters, Vonda Withheld, Jane Withheld, Jeannine Malleck, all of Lincoln, and Judy Withheld of Indianola; four grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited today at 7 p.m. at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola with the Rev. John Prachar officiating.
Memorials are being accepted in his name and left at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola, which is in charge of arrangements.
