Poems written by Edward G.
THE BROKEN WHEEL
Life is a motion picture
Which we see each day
At times it is all happiness
Then sorrow has its sway
To night our hearts are lonely
In our eye a tear does steal
As we think of wife and mother
Our broken family wheel
You were a true companion
As down life's paths we have tread
With gentle words and loving hands
You tucked us in our beds
May your light be ever shinning
And guide us on our way
Tho the house your soul once lived in
has long gone back to clay
Our family wheel is broken
It can never be repaired
In earthly joys and sorrows
Together we have shared
We miss you at our fireside
We miss you at our board
But feel you have been welcomed.
In the kingdom of our Lord.

NO ONE LOVES ME
I am Nobody's Sweetheart.
I wander alone.
Out in this world
Which is colder than stone.
Nothing but sadness
And sorrow I see.
I am Nobody's Sweetheart
No one loves me.
My two little babies,
God help them tonight,
Please so not forsake them,
Pray show them the right.
My way has been lonely
All through my years.
Like the Pilgrims that journeyed
In the valley of Tears.
My home was once happy,
Just for a short time,
It was just a few days,
Only ninety and nine.
Then sorrow and sadness
Crept in on my way,
Sadness and sorrow
Came there to stay.
Life soon will be over,
Then the battle is done;
I will be called to my Savior,
To that dear blessed One.
I will go to the Master,
Like a sheep from the lee;
I am Nobody's Sweetheart,
No one loves me.
