It read: Dear Aunt Helen, Would you believe you now have a 2nd postcard from Lahr, 70 years after the 1st and the church has been remodeled. We'll send you the details. May 1985 She signed the register for the Colling Family Reunion on Saturday May 25 at the Chief Motel. From Cambridge, NE. 5 The only remaining living Colling child of the 5 German Colling brothers who came to America in the 1850's & 60's, who can say"My father came from Germany." She said that family records, lost unfortunately in the 1920's, indicated that the Collings migrated from England to the west of Germany in the 14th Century. 1

1985 She is living in The Plaza in Cambridge. She has been responsible for much of the family history Jerry Dee has and for helping him find the Collings in Germany 5 years ago. Jerry Dee Colling has picture of Charles standing by door, leaning on a cane, in terminal illness. Helen Withheld is little girl on the right. He also has a picture of her as a little girl with long curls with her mother and other siblings clustered around a charcoal portrait of their father. In May 1989, 19 Jerry visited Aunt Helen Withheld and her "kids" and grandchildren in that lovely bungalow in Wilsonville. At 92, Aunt Helen was out cutting rhubarb so that Tina and Mary Lynne could make pies. Uncle Clifford and Aunt Myrtle visited there too and we had a nice final visit with Aunt Myrtle. 1, 5, 6

Helen married John Loy Withheld Sr.,1, 2, 3, 9, 11, 12 son of Hiram Allen Withheld and Dora Alice McFARLAND, on 8 Oct 1917 in Beaver City, Furnas, Nebraska, USA. 3, 9, 10 John was born on 25 Mar 1895 in Rowena, , Kentucky, USA 9 and died on 23 Mar 1986 in Cambridge, Furnas, Nebraska, USA (Cambridge Memorial Hospital) 9 at age 90.

.....John Loy Withheld was born at Rowena, Kentucky, March 25, 1895 to Hiram Allen and Dora Alice McFarland Withheld, and died March 23, 1986 at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, Cambridge, NE.
.....John was married to Helen Colling, October 8, 1919, To this union were born three sons and two daughters.
.....John was preceded in death by his parents, three brother (Carl, Litt and Ray) and only sister, Marvin. Survivors include his wife, Helen; his three sons and two daughters. His sons are - Withheld and wife June of Murray, UT; Withheld and his wife Adeline of Wilsonville; Withheld and Dorothy of Milford. Daughters - Withheld of Papillion; Withheld of Los Alamos, NM; eighteen grandchildren, all of whom are present today, twenty-two great grandchildren, one brother Paul and wife Fredricka Withheld, sister-in-laws Emma Withheld of Fresno, CA, Jeanette Withheld of McCook and Edna Withheld of Virginia. Also nieces, nephews, friends, and especially his grandchildren, who are here today from all over the United States.

OBITUARY
WILSONVILLE -- Charles Allyn Withheld, 78, died Tuesday (Oct. 1, 2002) at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital following a lengthy bout with cancer.
..... He was born July 26, 1924, to John and Helen (Colling) Withheld in Wilsonville. After graduating from Wilsonville High School in 1942, he enlisted in the Marines and fought during World War II. He was involved in campaigns in Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima as a member of the 2nd Armored Battalion which led the 2nd Marine Division to the beaches of Sarpan and Tinian. They also led the 4th Division ashore at Iwo Jima.
.....On April 25, 1948, he married Adeline Withheld.
..... He was a member of the Wilsonville United Methodist Church, Beaver City Lions Club, Beaver Valley VFW Post No. 7719 and the Chester A. Parsons American Legions Post No. 152.
..... He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Jeanne; one brother, Roger; and one brother-in-law.
..... Survivors include his wife, Adeline of Wilsonville; three sons, Withheld of Hastings, Withheld and wife of Wilsonville and Withheld and wife of Beaver City; one daughter, Withheld and husband, Withheld of Kearney; son-in-law, Withheld of Clay Center, Kan.; one brother, Withheld and wife of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Withheld and husband, Cliff Withheld of Papillion and Withheld and husband, Clarence of Los Alamos, NM; one brother-in-law, Jack Withheld and wife, Chicko of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Withheld of Hastings and Dorothy Withheld of Exeter; and 14 grandchildren.
..... Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Wilsonville with the Rev. R. Malchow officiating. Interment will be in the Wilsonville Cemetery. Combined military committal will be provided by the VFW, American Legion and Special Marine Detail from Omaha.
