.....Floyd Alfred Colling was born at Indianola, Nebraska on October 29th, 1905 and departed this life at Oceanside, California on November 30th, 1963 at the age of 58 years, one month and one day. He passed away suddenly of a heart attack on a Saturday morning while at work. He had been enjoying good health since his recovery from a previous heart attack almost two years ago.
.....He was the eldest child of Mable E. and Oliver H. Colling, and was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Lucille Withheld. He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred of 1302 Missouri Avenue in Oceanside, California, by his three children and six grandchildren, by his stepmother, Mrs. Daisy Colling of Wilsonville, brothers Withheld of Kiowa, Colorado, Chas C. of Sidney and Clifford H. of Wahoo, Nebraska as well as sisters Withheld of St. Lake City, Utah and Withheld of Laramie, Wyoming.
.....He spent his early childhood in Indianola and on the farm near Otis, Colorado until the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona for his mother's health. After her death the family moved to Wilsonville where he graduated from high school.
.....He studied for one year at the University of Colorado and then returned to Wilsonville, where he worked for his father on the farm east of town. He was united in marriage to Mildred H. Withheld on May 25, 1927. Three children blessed this union, Mrs. Withheld of Evanston, Wyoming, Withheld Colling, a pharmacy student of Laramie, Wyoming and Withheld Colling, a physician of Oceanside and Carisbad, California.
.....He assumed ownership of the farm after his father's death in 1945 and moved with his family to Laramie, Wyoming in 1956 where he was employed at the University of Wyoming field house. Mildred and Floyd and their grandson Randy Withheld moved to Oceanside, California about a year ago, following recovery from his first heart attack. He was employed for the past year as greenskeeper of the El Camino Country Club at Oceanside, enjoying the sunshine and out of doors which he loved on the farm.
.....He had been a member of the Methodist church since his youth and attended the First Methodist Church at Oceanside during his last months.
.....Funeral services were Wednesday, December 4 at the Chapel of the Oceanside Mortuary, followed by interment at Eternal Hills in Oceanside. Several relatives from Wyoming, Nebraska and Arizona were present for the services and spent a few days with the Colling family.
.....Pallbearers were Lt. Col. Chas. L Andre of Tucson, Arizona, Myron Ewalt and Charles Embry of Carlsbad, California, T. S. McCleave of Laramie, Wyoming, Dr. A. Garofolo, Jr. of Carlsbad and Dr. John Siegrist of Oceanside. 8

Marriage Notes: A very beautiful wedding ceremony was solemnized Wednesday evening; May twenty-fifth at the Methodist Episcopal church when Mr. P. D. Withheld gave his daughter, Miss Mildred Helen to Floyd Alfred Colling of this city.
.....The church was elaborately decorated in pink and white with large baskets of pink roses and white lilies adorning the alter. Across the pulpit and around the chancel was a lattice work of white against which pink and white roses mingled with fern were interwoven.
.....As soon as all guests were seated, Dr. P. D. Withheld of Beaver City, brother of the bride sang Cadman's "At Dawning," accompanied by the bride's sister, Mrs. Chas. E. Andre. At the first strains of Loheugrin's Wedding March played by Mrs. Chas. E. Andre, the bridal party advanced down the aisle to the alter where the groom and best man, Mr. Clifford Colling, brother of the groom, were in waiting. Messrs Dale Ritz and Merle Reed acted as ushers.
.....The bride's gown was of silver blue taffeta and silk maline made with short basque waist and full shirt with the long hemline and her pumps were perchment kid. She carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses and lily of the valley.
.....Miss Erma Withheld, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and was very charming in a gown of blue georgette and cream silk lace.
.....The groom and best man wore the conventional blue while the bride's father wore a suit of black.
.....While the soft strains of the wedding march were being played, the bridal party took the solemn oaths of matrimony under a large white wedding bell which hung under a beautiful arch at the alter with Rev. L. R. Hansberry officiating. Dr. P. D. Withheld then sang "Oh, Promise Me," after which the impressive double ring ceremony was performed. As the minister rendered a prayer the bridal couple knelt at the alter upon white satin pillows.
.....The guests arose during the benediction and remained standing while the bridal party retired to the reception room where congratulations were received and where light refreshments were served. Miss Erma Fleming had charge of the guest book.

T. Cline of Trenton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Applegate and MR. Wayne Dixon of Norton, Kansas.

Aug. 1976 Word was received by Dr. and Mrs. P. D. Withheld of the death after a long illness, of a niece, Mrs. Withheld of Evanston, WY. She was the only daughter of Mrs. Mildred Colling of Oceanside, Ca., and the late Floyd A. Colling. Burial will be Thursday at Oceanside. The family will be remembered as former residents of rural Wilsonville.

.....Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Sattler Funeral Home for Andrew Floyd Colling, one-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Withheld Colling.
.....The baby, born Wednesday, August 18, died early Friday morning of a cerebral hemorrhage.
.....Only the immediate families attended the final rites. Burial was at Oak Hill cemetery. Rev. Erwin Kiel officiated.
.....Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Withheld Colling, a brother, Timothy, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clement T. Withheld of Plattsmouth, and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Colling of Wilsonville, Nebr.
